The Windsome Reed Wind Quartet

The Windsome Reed Quartet is an ensemble made up of professional musicians. With this intriguing combination of instruments we can provide a varied selection of repertoire to cater for most occasions, be it a wedding, party, or other function. playing light classics from Bach to Joplin. We are available for work in Greater Manchester and further afield.

Emma Ringrose (oboe) graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 1995, and has since been in demand as a freelance performer, playing with the Halle Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, Performing Arts Orchestra and the Northern Chamber Orchestra.

Val Stark (clarinet) is a former member of the very popular 'Fairer Sax' quartet and has also freelanced with many orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Halle Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Opera North, Manchester Camerata and Northern Chamber Orchestra. Val is also a graduate of the R.N.C.M.

Lara James (saxophone) studied at the R.N.C.M. and the Manhattan School of Music. Lara has freelanced with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Martel Ensemble and various other chamber groups. She performs numerous solo
recitals and has played concertos at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, and the St. David's Hall in Cardiff.

Amanda Potter (bassoon) has performed with a variety of chamber ensembles since graduating from the R.N.C.M. She has also played with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, Performing Arts and Welsh Chamber
Orchestra.

The Windsome Reed Quartet performs together on a regular basis. We are based in Greater Manchester but are willing to travel.

Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Yorkshire, North Wales, Lake District, Midlands, North-East etc. etc.

As well as providing music for weddings and functions, we also have a range of contemporary classical repertoire suitable for recitals.
